Last Saturday I moved into The Master's College with the largest incoming class in the history of TMC. The best way to describe this past week is overwhelming. Although this word normally holds a negative connotation, several people have made sure that it has been a good thing this past week.
My family may have not known it at the time, but the tears shed and the prayers spoken as we said our goodbyes will never fade as a strong reminder of how blessed I am to have caring siblings and loving parents. I still don't understand the love a parent has for a child fully, but last Saturday was the closest I've ever gotten.
My roommate is already challenging me to be a servant. Not just on missions trips or during a serve day, but early in the morning when our eyes are filled with sleep and the ridiculously loud vibrate of the alarm is the last thing we want to hear. Her encouraging notes and willingness to look up directions to church when I am running late again are little reminders of the care we can have for people we barely even know.
My RD and RA are full of enthusiasm and care. Esther and Morgan's energy led Sweazy, my dorm, to win The Master's Cup. A great opportunity for dorm unity, friendships, and fun. The variety of their care is impressive already:
-someone to talk to when the rest of the hall is empty
-a source of medical supply when you hurt your foot, wrist, and knee
-a mom when you are sick and can't make it to lunch
-an event planner for a wing of restless freshman
-someone who remembers your name and how to spell it
My God is the One who provided all of these overwhelming blessings. I am so excited to dig into His word more and follow the new opportunities He lays before me. My hope is that I worship Him in everything to come. To care for others like my family, roommate, RD, and RA have this week, because He cares for me and them.

Someone else described the first week of TMS as "an overwhelming tidal wave of good things". Lol. Fun times!
